Following the success of Mañana Será Bonito two years ago, Karol embarked on a 62-date tour between 2023 and 2024 to support the album. During this time, she dropped several singles, including the global hits “Contigo” and “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido.” More recently, she released the Netflix documentary Tomorrow Was Beautiful, which follows her rise to stardom while navigating a sold-out stadium tour, creating new music, and preparing for her next album.
Just a couple of weeks ago, she kicked off a new era with the single “Latina Foreva,” which quickly became a staple on Latin playlists. On June 9, she posted a cryptic teaser—featuring Cuban cabaret vibes, feathered headpieces, bongos, and a “Mambo No. 5” homage—hinting at the vibrant, tropical direction of her new music.
On June 10, she officially confirmed that TROPICOQUETA drops on June 20. The title blends the words tropical and coqueta (Spanish for “flirty”), hinting at a sound rooted in Latin joy and feminine energy. While the tracklist and potential tour are yet to be revealed, anticipation is running high.
Announcing the new LP, Karol shared a heartfelt message on Instagram:
“Traveling the world with my last album, an album that gave me so much, I kept asking myself the same question: what’s the next step?… who’s coming for me? I think it wasn’t a matter of looking further, but of looking within—more inside of me, of who I really am, of the things I like, of everything that represents me…Back to the roots, to the songs I grew up listening to, to the sounds that made me fall in love with music… staying in the place where I really feel great, because it represents not only who I am, but also the people who’ve given me the opportunity to be where I am today. This album sounds like a little bit of everyone. It started as a wish in August 2023, and since then I’ve been dropping some tracks along the way. I can say that when I finished it, I did it with a heart full of the love I received in every country I visited. This album is soul, it’s passion, memory, nostalgia, joy, party, identity. As a good friend said, ‘It’s a love letter to what we were and a manifestation of what we are now.’ It’s my best way to say: I’m from here AND I FEEL INFINITELY PROUD!!! Family, this album is out in 10 days—IN TEN DAYSSSSSSSSS!!!!!! My soul, my love, and my respect for you are in this project. Can’t wait for you to hear it!!!”
