KATSEYE member Sophia is once again addressing questions surrounding Manon’s future in the group, offering fans another reminder that the singer remains part of KATSEYE despite her ongoing hiatus.
In a new interview with Allure conducted last month ahead of the group’s appearance at the 2026 American Music Awards, Sophia spoke candidly about Manon’s absence and why neither the members nor fans should rush the situation.
According to the publication, KATSEYE continues to refer to itself as a six-member group. When asked about Manon, Sophia emphasized that her bandmate’s well-being remains the priority.
“Because we did announce that it is about her well-being, it’s not our place or anybody else’s place to rush her,” Sophia said. “We love her and the fans love her. The people love her. They love KATSEYE.”
The singer also acknowledged the uncertainty many fans have felt over the past several months while waiting for official updates from HYBE x Geffen.
“If I was in their place I would be asking too, and so we understand,” she added.
The comments arrive weeks after Sophia previously confirmed that Manon remains on hiatus. Earlier this month, she shared a similar message during another interview, saying: “We continue supporting her and ensuring that she keeps taking care of her well-being.”
At the time, Sophia admitted that moving forward without all six members has been emotionally difficult.
“It’s hard to keep going with something that was built with all 6 girls, we really went through a lot,” she said. “I can confirm that she is still on hiatus, and we want the fans to know that Manon loves you all so much.”
Manon has been away from group activities since February 20, 2026, when HYBE x Geffen announced she would temporarily step back to focus on her health and well-being. Since then, the company has not provided a detailed timeline regarding her return.
Despite the uncertainty, KATSEYE’s momentum has continued to accelerate. The group performed at Coachella’s Sahara Stage in April and recently picked up wins at the 2026 American Music Awards. Their upcoming EP, WILD, is scheduled for release on August 14, while the sold-out WILDWORLD Tour will take the group across North America and Europe later this year.
Sophia, Yoonchae, Daniela, Lara, and Megan have also remained active through new music releases, including “ICONIC BY MISTAKE,” the collaborative single featuring LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT.
