A representative for Katy Perry has firmly denied sexual assault allegations made by Ruby Rose, calling the claims “categorically false” in a statement issued to Rolling Stone on April 13. The response follows a series of posts by Rose on social media earlier the same day, in which she accused Perry of misconduct dating back roughly two decades.
“The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous, reckless lies,” the statement reads. “Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named.” The spokesperson did not provide additional comment beyond the written response.
Rose’s claims were initially shared via Threads, where she described an alleged incident involving Perry that she said occurred approximately 20 years ago. In her posts, Rose alleged inappropriate physical contact and stated that she had filed a police report “a few hours ago.” No further details about the report have been publicly confirmed by authorities at the time of publication.
The allegations quickly gained traction across social platforms, prompting widespread discussion and polarized reactions. Perry has not addressed the claims directly through her personal channels, with her team’s statement serving as the only official response so far.
