Grande has spent recent weeks carefully unveiling pieces of the project. She previously shared lyrics including “Heartbreak won’t bite here in paradise” and “i hear them all say …” across social media, gradually expanding the album’s narrative. She also addressed fan speculation surrounding the production of the title track, confirming that its prominent low-end comes from a traditional sub bass rather than trap-inspired production. Executive produced by Grande alongside longtime collaborator Ilya Salmanzadeh, the album has been described as an intimate exploration of healing, resilience, and personal transformation.

Momentum has also been fueled by the blockbuster success of lead single “hate that i made you love me,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Ariana Grande’s 10th career chart-topper.
