The Path to Deep Thoughts
A few months after releasing Almost Healed, Lil Durk announced that he was back in the studio working on its follow-up. Initially, the rapper planned to release Love Songs 4 the Streets 3, the sequel to his fourth studio album. During this period, he dropped two standalone singles: “Old Days” and “Went Hollywood for a Year.” However, he later changed direction, first releasing “Turn Up a Notch” as the lead single before officially announcing his ninth album, Deep Thoughts, alongside the second single, “Monitoring Me.”
The album was originally set for release on October 18, 2024, but was postponed following his arrest in October 2024. After four delays, Lil Durk confirmed that Deep Thoughts would finally be released on March 28, 2025.
