Lizzo is celebrating a major streaming milestone while opening up about one of the most difficult periods of her life. Her Grammy-winning hit “About Damn Time” has officially surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify, becoming the second song in her catalog to reach the landmark after “Truth Hurts.”

The singer marked the achievement with an emotional statement on social media, revealing that the success arrives after months of personal struggles that fans had not fully seen. “I’m weeping on the floor— nobody knows what I’ve been going through privately,” she wrote before describing “a roller coaster” filled with physical pain, sleepless nights, tears, and what she called “vicious attacks from people who don’t even know me.”

Despite those challenges, Lizzo said she continues to wake up every day determined to move forward. She credited her faith, the support of loved ones, and her fans for helping her persevere, adding, “God is reminding me who I am and what He made me to do. No weapon formed against me will prosper.” She ended the message by thanking supporters and celebrating the milestone: “ABOUT DAMN TIME IS MY 2ND BILLIONTH STREAMED RECORD!!!!”

Originally released in 2022 as the lead single from her album Special, “About Damn Time” became one of Lizzo’s signature songs. The disco-infused anthem topped the Billboard Hot 100, earned widespread radio support, and later won Record of the Year at the 65th Grammy Awards.

The celebration comes during a challenging commercial chapter for the artist. Her latest album, B!TCH, debuted on June 5 through Nice Life and Atlantic Records but struggled to find a large audience. According to Luminate, the project sold 2,649 copies in its opening week and failed to enter the Billboard 200 before dropping to roughly 650 copies in its second week.

Lizzo has been unusually transparent about those numbers. In a recent TikTok, she responded to fans urging her to promote the album more aggressively, explaining that every promotional effort was met with online criticism. “I promoted my album super hard and people were calling me a desperate flop,” she said.
