Lorde Surprises Governors Ball Crowd With Unreleased Song Debut: Full Setlist

Lorde opened Governors Ball 2026 with a surprise that instantly became one of the festival’s biggest highlights of the weekend. Headlining the opening night on June 5 at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, New York, the singer-songwriter premiered an unreleased track while delivering a career-spanning set.

Performing before a massive crowd on the GovBallNYC Presented by Verizon stage, Lorde used the 85-minute performance to officially launch the next chapter of her Ultrasound World Tour, which continues in support of her critically acclaimed 2025 album Virgin. The set balanced newer material with beloved fan favorites, highlighting the range of a catalog that now stretches across four distinct eras.

The night began with the debut of a previously unheard song, tentatively titled “Don’t Look for Me, I’m Gone.” Accompanied by synths, Lorde performed the track while wearing a sheer top fitted with biometric sensors that transmitted her real-time heartbeat into the stage visuals.

From there, the New Zealand artist guided fans through an expansive setlist that included “Royals,” “What Was That,” “Broken Glass,” “Perfect Places,” “Shapeshifter,” and an alternate version of “Buzzcut Season.” Tracks from Virgin featured prominently throughout the evening, including “Favourite Daughter,” “Current Affairs,” “Hammer,” “Man of the Year,” and “David.”

Released in June 2025, Virgin debuted inside the top five of the Billboard 200 and reached No. 1 in both the United Kingdom and Australia.
