Madison Beer has nothing but love for Ariana Grande — and she’s making that clear. In a new interview on Z100 New York, the pop singer addressed growing fan comparisons between her latest single “Bittersweet” and Ariana Grande’s recent releases. Rather than distancing herself from the comments, Beer embraced them wholeheartedly.

“She’s just my queen,” Beer said. “I’m such a big fan of hers. I could go on and on and on. She’s inspired so much of my music, and people can hear it. There were so many people saying, ‘Bittersweet sounds too much like Ariana,’ and I’m like — she’s my queen, this is an honor.

“Bittersweet” is the latest preview of Beer’s upcoming third studio album, Locket, due January 16, 2026, via Epic Records and Sing It Loud. The project follows her critically acclaimed 2023 album Silence Between Songs, which earned a Grammy nomination for Best Immersive Audio Album. This new era, Beer explained, feels even more intimate. “I came up with the album title before I even wrote the album,” she recently told The Travis Mills Show. “It’s been a secret I’ve been sitting on for a while. I wanted something that felt delicate, feminine, and timeless — something that really represented me.”

To celebrate the upcoming release, Beer recently revealed a new tattoo — the word “Locket” written in delicate cursive on her arm. Meanwhile, “Bittersweet” continues to build momentum. The song has surpassed 1.2 million streams on Spotify, peaking at No. 156 globally.
