Madonna and Charli xcx’s “Danceteria (Remix)” has been crowned fans’ favorite new release of the week in InMusic’s latest X poll. The collaboration dominated the vote with 72%, finishing well ahead of Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore and Tinashe’s Popstar, which each received 13%.
The poll put four major pop releases from September 24 and 25 against each other, with Nessa Barrett’s Tough Love rounding out the field at 3%. While each project arrived with a distinct approach to pop, R&B or alternative sounds, Madonna and Charli’s club-focused collaboration clearly connected most strongly with InMusic’s voters.

“Danceteria (Remix),” officially released as “Danceteria Afterhours,” arrived September 24 as an addition to Madonna’s Confessions II, which was released in July. The track revisits the mythology surrounding Danceteria, the legendary early-1980s Manhattan club where Madonna performed during the beginnings of her career, while giving Charli a space to tell her own version of a club-born origin story. Charli’s new verse references her teenage years, DJing in London at 15, Myspace and the creative circles surrounding A. G. Cook and SOPHIE.
The original song already leaned heavily into disco and electroclash, incorporating a Lou Reed interpolation and references to New York nightlife. Produced by Madonna alongside Andrew Watt, Cirkut and Stuart Price, the Afterhours version turns those ideas into a meeting point between two generations of pop artists who built major careers around club culture.
Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore was the biggest challenger in the InMusic poll, collecting 13% of the vote. Released September 25, the four-track expansion adds “Patient Zero,” “Cleveland!,” “Pink Clouding” and “Babylon” to the album originally released in October 2025.
Tinashe’s Popstar also earned 13%, matching Swift in the poll despite taking a completely different musical route. Her eighth studio album arrived September 25 as a 16-track, featureless project spanning experimental R&B, hyperpop, house and West Coast influences.
Nessa Barrett’s Tough Love received the remaining 3%. Her third album is an 11-track set centered on complicated relationships, with “Too Fast to Live, Too Young to Die,” “Bad Girls Never Die” and the title track establishing its dark romantic tone.
