Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore is heading toward another major Billboard 200 moment. Early U.S. estimates from Nora Music project the four-song deluxe edition to generate around 178,000 album-equivalent units in its opening week, putting Taylor Swift in position to return to No. 1.
Tinashe’s Popstar is also tracking toward approximately 20,000 units, a figure that could give her one of the biggest sales weeks of her career.

The Encore arrives less than a year after The Life of a Showgirl established an extraordinary commercial benchmark. The original album debuted with 4.002 million album-equivalent units in the U.S., including 3,479,500 pure album sales and 680.9 million streams, marking the biggest single-week consumption total in Billboard 200 history at the time.
Taylor Swift’s latest deluxe release has already demonstrated significant streaming power before its projected Billboard 200 debut. The four new songs generated 40.5 million global Spotify streams in their first day, making The Encore the biggest deluxe-album debut in Spotify history.
Every track entered the top four of Spotify’s Daily Global chart. “Patient Zero” led with 13.709 million streams, giving Swift the biggest Spotify song debut of 2026 by a female artist and placing the track just behind BTS’ “Swim,” which opened with roughly 14 million streams.
The numbers give The Encore a strong starting point even though it contains only four additional tracks. Its Billboard 200 performance will also reflect how the deluxe edition’s consumption is counted alongside the original album, creating the possibility of another major week for a project that has already spent 12 nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1.
The Encore emerged from an unexpected creative reunion with Max Martin and Shellback. About a year after The Life of a Showgirl’s release, Taylor Swift traveled to Sweden with the longtime collaborators to celebrate the album’s success, with the sessions eventually producing the four songs included on the expanded edition.
“Patient Zero” has received the largest visual rollout of the new material. Swift has teased a music video starring Colin Farrell and Dakota Johnson, with footage featuring a bathroom, an underwater sequence and a snowy cemetery. The full video is scheduled to premiere during the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards tonight.
