Mariah Carey has declared it official: the Christmas season has begun. On November 1, precisely at midnight as Halloween faded away, the Queen of Christmas launched her yearly tradition with a brand-new “It’s Time!!!!” video — a now-iconic signal that the holiday season has arrived. The clip, shared across Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and TikTok, is a Sephora-sponsored holiday spectacle that blends Carey’s signature festive humor with a glossy beauty collaboration already lighting up social media. Within hours, the video amassed thousands of likes, proving that no one ushers in Christmas quite like Mariah Carey.

The minute-long spot unfolds like a playful Christmas mini-movie. It opens with Carey, dressed as a celestial angel, announcing, “Halloween slayed… but now, it’s time!” before soaring off in a sleigh above a Sephora-inspired winter wonderland, complete with shimmering storefronts and snow-kissed displays.

Adding a dose of comedy, Billy Eichner appears as a mischievous elf bent on sabotaging Carey’s Christmas cheer. In a flurry of candy-cane chaos, he steals her makeup bag, growling, “Bad news, Mariah Carey—the elves are striking this year!” But the singer, unfazed, fires back with wit and poise: “That’s my blush, elf boy!”

Since 2015, Carey’s “It’s Time” videos have become a pop culture event, marking the annual transformation from spooky season to Christmas sparkle. Each year, she “defrosts” in increasingly elaborate fashion, a running joke among fans that has since evolved into an enduring digital holiday ritual.

Beyond the meme, Carey’s influence remains unmatched. Her 1994 hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You” continues to dominate streaming platforms and holiday charts worldwide. The song has topped the Billboard Hot 100 every December since 2019 and surpassed 2 billion streams on Spotify in 2024. When Mariah says “It’s Time,” Christmas has officially begun.
