Megan Thee Stallion is officially back. The Grammy-winning rapper has announced her new single “Lover Girl,” set for release this Friday, October 24 — marking her long-awaited musical return and the beginning of a new era for the Houston native.

The news comes after weeks of teasing on social media, where Megan had hinted that her next post would reveal the song’s release date. Now, she’s delivered on that promise. Sharing the announcement with fans across her platforms, she wrote simply: “LOVER GIRL 10.24.”

Within minutes, the internet erupted with excitement. Fans flooded her comments with reactions like “FINALLY DAMNNN UGHHHHH” and “WE WILL BE STREAMING,” signaling just how ready the Hotties have been for new music from their favorite rapper.

“Lover Girl” is set to follow her last official single, “Whenever,” which dropped in April. While Megan has yet to share a preview of the track, her recent social media teasers — including a short clip showing her walking confidently in a floral-patterned bodysuit alongside her boyfriend, NBA star Klay Thompson — suggest a softer, more romantic side to her sound.

The single’s release also perfectly aligns with Megan’s upcoming Hottieween celebration, set for October 31 in Humble, Texas. The annual Halloween event — which supports the Pete & Thomas Foundation, her nonprofit focused on education and community aid — has become a signature tradition for the rapper and her fans.

“Lover Girl” will be Megan’s second release since her 2024 album Megan, her first independent project under Hot Girl Productions in partnership with Warner Music Group. That album spawned several major hits, including “Cobra,” “Boa,” and the chart-topping “Hiss,” which became her first solo No. 1 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and Global 200.

Following the album’s success, Megan embarked on her Hot Girl Summer Tour, her first global headlining trek, which sold out arenas across North America and Europe.
