Melanie Martinez officially launched The Sacrifice Tour on July 17 with an opening-night performance at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. Fans attending the first show witnessed a bold creative decision, as the singer dedicated the entire concert to performing every song from her new album, Hades.

Rather than mixing fan favorites from Cry Baby, K-12 or PORTALS, Martinez built the setlist exclusively around her fourth studio album. The result was an immersive theatrical experience that brought the dystopian world of Hades to life from beginning to end.

Released on March 27, 2026, through Atlantic Records, Hades debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 with 84,000 equivalent album units. The project became Melanie Martinez’s fourth top-10 album and matched K-12 as her second-highest-charting release, trailing only PORTALS, which reached No. 2.

The album introduced the darker half of Martinez’s ambitious double-album concept centered around the character Circle. Songs including “Possession,” “Disney Princess,” “Uncanny Valley” and “The Vatican” quickly became fan favorites, making them natural additions to the live production.

Interest surrounding The Sacrifice Tour extends beyond Hades. During a recent appearance on the TODAY show, Martinez confirmed that the companion album to Hades will be titled Elysium, describing it as the utopian counterpart to the dystopian story presented on the current record.

Earlier interviews revealed that both albums were largely completed before Hades arrived, leaving only minor adjustments for Elysium. That has fueled speculation that future tour dates could introduce unreleased material once the second chapter officially arrives.

For now, The Sacrifice Tour offers fans the first complete live presentation of Hades. With dozens of arena dates still ahead across North America, the United Kingdom and Europe through September 26, it will be fascinating to see whether Martinez keeps the setlist intact or surprises audiences as the next phase of the project unfolds.
