Nicki Minaj has made it clear that her upcoming album — set for release on March 27, 2026 — will be nothing short of flawless. Responding to a fan on X (formerly Twitter) who asked if old scrapped tracks might appear on the record, the rap superstar wrote, “No scraps on the classic. The scraps have to come out in other ways, chi. The classic must only be perfection.”

She also dropped another major reveal: “GAG CITY 2 will surely make its presence felt,” confirming that her acclaimed “Gag City” era — first introduced during her Pink Friday 2 rollout — will continue into her next musical chapter.

This new update arrives just weeks after Minaj described her forthcoming album as “the transformational album I never saw coming.” In a previous post, she reflected on how deeply personal the project has become, saying, “I honestly thought I’d be writing from a similar place, but that’s just not possible anymore. This is a diff glow.

Minaj’s reflections come after a turbulent few months marked by social media silence, controversy, and reinvention. On October 20, she deactivated her Instagram account following online drama and speculation about strained industry relationships. Days before that, she appeared to cancel her long-awaited sixth studio album, NM6, stating she was “done with music.” But as fans have come to expect, Minaj’s story didn’t end there — it evolved. Shortly afterward, she teased a creative rebirth, calling this new phase her “Billionaire Barbie era,” hinting at a project defined by self-mastery, confidence, and elevation.

Her last studio album, Pink Friday 2 (2023), debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and spawned a string of hits including “FTCU.” The record reignited her dominance and introduced fans to “Gag City,” a vibrant, fan-created digital universe that became a viral sensation.
