Noah Kahan opens his new era with immediate scale. Released on April 24, The Great Divide storms the global charts with a massive 43.44 million first-day streams on Spotify, placing all 17 tracks on the Daily Global chart and signaling one of the biggest album launches of 2026 so far.
Momentum is spread evenly across the tracklist rather than concentrated in a single hit. “Doors” leads the pack at No. 6 with 4.4 million streams, marking Kahan’s second-biggest debut ever behind the title track’s No. 3 opening earlier this year. Elsewhere, “End of August” enters at No. 13 with 3.5 million, while “American Cars” and “Downfall” follow closely with 3.3 million and 3 million, respectively. Even deeper cuts like “Spoiled” (No. 128) and “Dan” (No. 143) post strong numbers.
That kind of across-the-board performance reflects the trajectory Kahan has been building since Stick Season reshaped his career in 2022. His fourth studio album expands on that foundation with a 77-minute runtime that leans into post-fame introspection, revisiting Vermont roots while grappling with the weight of global recognition. Production credits from longtime collaborator Gabe Simon alongside new input from Aaron Dessner add broader textures without losing the intimacy that defines his songwriting.
Early standouts suggest fans are connecting with both ends of the spectrum. Upbeat, driving moments like “Doors” coexist with slower, reflective cuts such as “Porch Light” (No. 47, 2.5 million streams), creating a listening experience that flows more like a narrative than a collection of singles.
The strong opening also sets the tone for a major touring cycle. Kahan’s upcoming run begins June 11 at Orlando’s Kia Center and stretches through August 30, including stadium dates at Fenway Park, Wrigley Field, and the Rose Bowl.
