As New Music Friday rolls in, this week brings an exceptional collection of releases that are already generating serious buzz.

Leading the conversation is Olivia Rodrigo’s third studio album, You Seem Pretty Sad For a Girl So in Love, which arrives at midnight following months of mounting anticipation. The 13-track project marks Rodrigo’s first full-length release since 2023’s GUTS and has already generated significant momentum through a string of successful singles and headline-making performances.

Released in April, “Drop Dead” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and delivered the biggest Spotify debut of 2026 for a female artist. Follow-up single “The Cure” continued that streak, opening at No. 5 on the Hot 100 while debuting at No. 1 on Spotify’s Daily Global Chart with 7.215 million streams. Interest surrounding the album has remained exceptionally strong, with Spotify reporting nearly 4 million pre-saves ahead of release day, making it the platform’s most pre-saved upcoming album.

Momentum accelerated further during Rodrigo’s surprise appearance at Primavera Sound in Barcelona on June 6. During the roughly 50-minute set, she premiered “What’s Wrong With Me” alongside Robert Smith of The Cure, marking the first official collaboration of her career. Earlier this year, she also introduced the emotional ballad “Begged” during her Saturday Night Live performance.

Joining Rodrigo on tonight’s crowded release schedule is BTS, who are set to unveil their new single “Come Over” as part of the group’s annual FESTA celebrations. According to BIGHIT MUSIC, the song reflects the members’ emotions as they prepare to reunite with fans following their extended hiatus.

The release arrives during a particularly busy chapter for the group. BTS is currently in the midst of its Arirang era and ongoing world tour, while FESTA 2026 has already delivered a packed schedule of anniversary content, including performance videos, behind-the-scenes footage, and special fan-focused releases. Sonically, “Come Over” combines anthem-sized production, rhythmic claps, and distorted guitar elements designed to capture the emotions of longing, uncertainty, and reunion.

Elsewhere, Bebe Rexha is entering a new phase of her career with the arrival of Dirty Blonde, her fourth studio album. Distributed through Empire, the project represents her first major release fully outside the traditional major-label system. The visual album embraces a deliberately genre-fluid approach, blending EDM, pop, country, and hip-hop influences across a campaign that has already produced singles including “New Religion” and “Sad Girls” featuring David Guetta.

Completing the night’s major releases is “Iconic By Mistake,” a landmark collaboration bringing together LE SSERAFIM, ILLIT, and KATSEYE. The track serves as one of the most ambitious crossover moments in HYBE’s recent history, uniting three of its most successful contemporary girl groups on a single record.

Written by a team that includes Justin Tranter and Madison Love, “Iconic By Mistake” transforms online criticism into a rallying cry. Rather than addressing negativity defensively, the song embraces scrutiny as part of the journey toward success, pairing sharp lyrics with explosive pop production. Its music video, released on June 10, has already surpassed 10 million views.

Noteworthy releases also come from ADÉLA, Rebecca Black, Myles Smith, Blxst, Ruel, Jessie Reyez, Jack White, and more.
