Olivia Rodrigo continues her dominant run in Australia as You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love secures a third consecutive week at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart. The 23-year-old singer-songwriter holds off a wave of new rock releases, while the Singles Chart remains firmly in the hands of female artists thanks to Ella Langley’s latest return to the summit.
Rodrigo’s latest studio album has quickly established itself as one of the year’s biggest releases in Australia, extending its streak to three straight weeks atop the albums ranking. The milestone comes despite strong competition from English rock veterans Muse, whose tenth studio album, The Wow! Signal, debuts at No. 2.
The new release adds another impressive result to Muse’s Australian chart history. All ten of the band’s studio albums have reached the ARIA Top 30, with seven landing inside the Top 10. Their previous chart peaks include Black Holes and Revelations (No. 1 in 2006), The Resistance (No. 1 in 2009), The 2nd Law (No. 2 in 2012), Drones (No. 1 in 2015), Simulation Theory (No. 7 in 2018), Will Of The People (No. 1 in 2022), and now The Wow! Signal at No. 2.
Another notable debut comes from American rock band The Pretty Reckless, whose new album Dear God opens at No. 7. It marks the group’s fourth Top 50 entry in Australia following Going To Hell (No. 20 in 2014), Who You Selling For (No. 33 in 2016), and Death By Rock And Roll (No. 15 in 2021).
On the ARIA Singles Chart, Ella Langley returns to No. 1 with “Choosin’ Texas,” earning a fourth non-consecutive week at the top. The country star continues to build momentum in Australia, while her follow-up single “Be Her,” which previously peaked at No. 28, sits at No. 32 this week.
