Phoebe Bridgers and KATSEYE are celebrating major milestones in Australia this week after both claimed No. 1 positions on the latest ARIA Charts. Bridgers debuted atop the Albums Chart with her highly anticipated third studio album Lost Weekend, while KATSEYE scored their first-ever Australian No. 1 single as “Animal” surged to the summit.

Phoebe Bridgers’ Lost Weekend opens at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart, giving the singer-songwriter her first solo chart-topper in Australia. The achievement marks another career high after Punisher peaked at No. 12 in 2020, while she previously reached No. 3 as one-third of Boygenius with The Record in 2023.

British group Jungle also make a notable debut this week, entering at No. 9 with Sunshine. The project becomes the band’s third Australian top-20 album following their self-titled debut, which reached No. 20 in 2014, and Loving In Stereo, which climbed to No. 10 in 2021.

The ARIA Singles Chart is led by another breakthrough story. KATSEYE earn their first Australian No. 1 single as “Animal” leaps from No. 13 to the top spot. Co-written by Ed Sheeran, the track previously peaked at No. 8 before rebounding to become the group’s biggest hit in the country. Their previous best-performing single, “Pinky Up,” reached No. 19 earlier this year.

The Australian triumph adds to an extraordinary global run for the HYBE x Geffen girl group. Earlier this week, KATSEYE landed a top-five U.S. box office debut with their documentary Wild Hearts, while their new EP WILD is projected to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with approximately 169,000 equivalent album units.

Elsewhere on the Singles Chart, Tame Impala secures another top-10 entry as “Loser” climbs from No. 11 to No. 7, boosted by its inclusion in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The track joins “Dracula,” which previously peaked at No. 4, giving Kevin Parker two of Australia’s biggest songs of the moment.
