RAYE is celebrating another major streaming milestone as “Where Is My Husband!” joins Spotify’s Billions Club, making it her third song to surpass one billion streams on the platform. To mark the achievement, Spotify released a new episode of Billions Club: The Series on October 20, taking fans behind the scenes with the British singer-songwriter as she reflects on her success, creative process and experience opening for Bruno Mars.
Recorded shortly before one of the opening sets of Bruno Mars’ The Romantic Tour, the episode follows RAYE through her pre-show makeup routine as she discusses the realities of performing for audiences who may not know her music. “It’s kind of a beautiful, humbling process, opening for an artist,” she says. “People didn’t come to see you, and your job is to win over a crowd.”

The episode also captures RAYE receiving three plaques commemorating the songs that have each crossed the one-billion-stream threshold: “Escapism.,” “Prada” and “Where Is My Husband!” The moment offers a tangible reminder of how far her music has traveled, particularly for an artist whose career has been shaped by years of songwriting, studio sessions and persistence.
“It is pretty insane. We work really hard in tiny little rooms, making songs with dreams of people hearing them,” RAYE says, reflecting on the milestone. She also describes how moving it is to see listeners around the world connect with music that began in intimate creative spaces.
During the conversation, RAYE breaks down the inspiration behind “Where Is My Husband!,” explaining that she wanted the track to capture the excitement and immediacy of a live performance. “I wanted to create something that felt like it just had that live energy, that on stage feeling,” she says. The British singer also points to her love of 1960s sounds and Motown as key influences on the song’s arrangement.
“And then that 60s feeling, that Motown feeling that I’m obsessed with. We found some brass sounds and some drums, and it had this ‘Bam!’ And that’s what we started with,” she explains. Recalling the writing process, RAYE adds, “And I was like ‘Yeah.’ And then the chorus came first. I was like ‘okay, this is nice’.”
Released on September 19, 2025, “Where Is My Husband!” was written and co-produced by RAYE and her frequent collaborator Mike Sabath. The track became her second No. 1 single in the United Kingdom and reached No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking her highest-charting entry on the US chart. It later appeared on her second studio album, This Music May Contain Hope, released in 2026, which topped the UK Albums Chart and earned widespread critical acclaim.
