Selena Gomez recently provided fans with an update on her music career, revealing that she currently has no immediate plans to release new music. In a recent interview, the singer and actress addressed ongoing speculation about her next musical project, clarifying that while music remains an essential part of her life, no new releases are in the works at the moment.

I currently don’t have anything,” Gomez admitted, acknowledging her temporary absence from the recording studio. However, she reassured fans that music is integral to her identity as an artist and creator. “Music is always going to be a part of me. So I don’t think any movements are happening right now, but it will always be in my life.

These reflections follow a recent interview Gomez gave to Vanity Fair, where she expressed that she’s not ready to return to the studio for new music, stating, “Acting has always been my first love. Music is just a hobby that went out of control.” While Selena Gomez’s most recent album, Rare, was released in 2020, the pop star did put out a new single, “Love On,” earlier this year.

In contrast, Gomez has remained very active in her acting career. Last summer, the fourth season of Only Murders in the Building premiered, and her critically acclaimed film Emilia Pérez, in which she portrays Jessi Del Monte, is set for a limited theatrical release in the US and Canada on November 1st, before debuting on Netflix on November 13th.
