Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are gearing up to release their joint album, I Said I Love You First, this Friday. One of the standout tracks is “Bluest Flame,” co-written by none other than Charli XCX. Leading up to the album’s release, Selena and Benny sat down with Spotify to share insights into the record. Speaking about their collaboration with the BRAT hitmaker, the 32-year-old singer called it a “hypnotic and euphoric” song, adding, “The whole song is Charli.”

A few hours ago, Selena shared a snippet of the song on social media, sparking excitement among fans. “THANK YOU CHARLI XCX FOR GIVING US HYPERPOP SELENA GOMEZ,” one wrote on X/Twitter. “Selena Gomez releasing a Charli-penned song? We’re so back,” another added. Speaking to Spotify, Selena also praised Charli’s work: “I just feel like Charli has this way of creating a hypnotic, kind of crazy, cool feeling… it’s like a fever dream.”
The last—and first—time Selena and Charli teamed up was on the 2015 smash hit “Same Old Love.” The song, taken from Selena’s sophomore album Revival, was penned by the British singer. It became one of Selena’s biggest hits, peaking at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and achieving 3× Platinum certification in the U.S. for selling three million units.
