Spotify is raising the cost of its Premium subscription plans in the United States, marking the streaming giant’s third price increase in roughly four years. The company confirmed the changes on January 15, citing continued investment in its platform, features, and global music ecosystem. The updated pricing also applies to Estonia and Latvia.

Under the new structure, Individual Premium in the U.S. rises from $11.99 to $12.99 per month. The Family plan, which supports up to six accounts, increases from $19.99 to $21.99, while Premium Duo climbs from $16.99 to $18.99. Spotify’s Student plan also sees a $1 bump, moving from $5.99 to $6.99 monthly. The price changes take effect immediately for new subscribers.

Existing Premium users will not see the increase right away. Spotify says current subscribers will be charged the updated rates starting on their next billing date in February 2026. Affected users will receive email notifications over the coming weeks with account-specific details, a practice the company has followed during previous adjustments.

This latest hike continues a steady upward trend. Spotify first raised its U.S. Premium price from $9.99 to $10.99 in July 2023. Less than two years later, the service moved to $11.99 during the 2024–2025 period.
