Taylor Swift is giving fans a longer look at one of her most playful eras. On February 13, the singer unveiled two extended versions of the “Opalite” music video, expanding the retro world she introduced earlier this month. The new cuts, labeled Part 1 and Part 2, are available now through select streaming platforms.
“I never want to forget a single detail of this hysterical shoot, and now I don’t have to,” Swift wrote in a post announcing the release. “Excited to share more of the Opalite Music Video with two extended versions full of dance lessoning, our phenomenal cameos, camcorder footage, gigantic scrunchies & fanny pack angles!”
The extended editions build on the original “Opalite” visual, which debuted February 6 as part of a strategic platform-exclusive rollout. Before landing on YouTube, the video premiered on Spotify Premium and Apple Music, helping Swift set a new Spotify record for the most-streamed music video in a single day on the platform. With that milestone, she now holds the largest single-day streaming record in Spotify history across four categories: artist, album, song, and music video.
“Opalite” appears on Swift’s 2025 album, The Life of a Showgirl. Written, directed, and co-produced by Swift alongside Max Martin and Shellback, the track leans into glossy, late-’90s pop nostalgia. The video, shot on film by cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto, plays like a romantic comedy parody of retro infomercials. Swift stars opposite Domhnall Gleeson in a surreal storyline involving a pet rock, a cactus, and a fictional transformation spray. Cameos from Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, Graham Norton, Cillian Murphy, and Lewis Capaldi add to its camp appeal.
The newly released extended versions are not alternate audio takes. They are longer video cuts, each running approximately nine minutes. Fans can expect behind-the-scenes rehearsal footage, additional choreography segments, handheld camcorder clips, and extended cameo moments that did not appear in the standard edit.
