Taylor Swift has reached a new milestone on the Billboard Hot 100. “The Fate of Ophelia,” has claimed a ninth week at No. 1, officially becoming the longest-running chart-topper of her career. The achievement sees the song surpass “Anti-Hero,” which previously held her personal record with eight weeks at the summit.
The surge comes as seasonal holiday tracks fade from the chart’s upper tier. One week earlier, Christmas songs occupied a record 24 spots in the top region. With that congestion cleared, “The Fate of Ophelia” powered back to No. 1 from No. 28, reaffirming its dominant presence. The track first debuted in mid-October as the lead single from Swift’s twelfth album The Life of a Showgirl and ruled the chart for its initial eight consecutive weeks.
Across her 13 career Hot 100 No. 1s, “The Fate of Ophelia” now stands alone at the top in longevity. It leads a list that includes “Anti-Hero” (eight weeks), “Blank Space” (seven weeks), and multiple four-week leaders such as “Cruel Summer” and “Shake It Off.”
The record also strengthens Swift’s dominance in the 2020s. She now boasts eight No. 1 hits this decade, totaling 27 weeks at the summit, the most of any artist so far. Overall, her 13 Hot 100 leaders tie her for the fourth-most in the chart’s history, while her cumulative 45 weeks at No. 1 place her eighth all-time.
Equally historic is the timing. With the chart dated January 10, 2026, the 36-year-old popstar has now topped the Hot 100 in 11 distinct years. That accomplishment places her second only to Mariah Carey among artists with No. 1 hits spanning at least a decade.
