Taylor Swift continues to redefine her chart longevity. This week, “The Fate of Ophelia” claims a 10th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking a historic milestone in her career. The track becomes the first of Swift’s 13 career chart-toppers to reach double-digit weeks at the summit.
Released as the lead single from Swift’s latest album The Life of a Showgirl, “The Fate of Ophelia” has dominated the U.S.’s biggest chart since its release. It briefly lost the top spot during the Christmas season but quickly returned to No. 1 after the holiday break.
The achievement is amplified by the album’s own performance. The Life of a Showgirl has logged 12 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, becoming just the fifth album in chart history to spend at least 10 weeks atop the albums chart while also producing a Hot 100 leader with an equally long reign.
With 13 Hot 100 No. 1s under her belt, Swift’s previous longest-leading song was “Anti-Hero” with eight weeks, followed by “Blank Space” and “Cruel Summer.”
Elsewhere on this week’s Billboard Hot 100, Djo, the musical project of actor Joe Keery, earns his first top 10 as “End of Beginning” surges to No. 6, fueled by renewed streaming interest following the Stranger Things finale.
