August 2025 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting months in music in recent memory. With a wave of major artists dropping new albums across pop, hip-hop, rock, and alternative, fans are set for a packed calendar of releases that promise to define the sound of the season. A Futuristic Summa by Metro Boomin

Metro Boomin’s A Futuristic Summa, set for release on August 1, 2025, is anticipated to be a significant addition to the trap and hip-hop landscape. Initially announced for July 22, the release was delayed by 10 days. The album is expected to feature several high-profile collaborations, including Young Thug, Quavo, and Future. The lead single, “Slide,” was released on July 4. Metro has described the project as a return to his solo production roots, aiming to revive the feeling of early Southern trap music.

Bite Me by Reneé Rapp

Reneé Rapp’s Bite Me, also dropping on August 1, is her sophomore pop album, following Snow Angel in 2023. Described as raw, unfiltered, and emotionally bold, the record focuses on self-acceptance and unapologetic self-expression. It includes 12 tracks, with previously released singles “Leave Me Alone,” “Mad,” and “Why Is She Still Here?” To support the LP, Rapp will launch The Bite Me Tour in September and has also announced a 2026 European leg, including major arena dates in Manchester and London.

Greetings from Your Hometown by Jonas Brothers

The Jonas Brothers’ Greetings from Your Hometown, releasing August 8, marks their seventh studio pop-rock album and celebrates their 20th anniversary. It follows The Album (2023) and includes singles like “Love Me to Heaven,” “No Time to Talk,” and “I Can’t Lose.” The Jonas20: Greetings from Your Hometown Tour kicks off August 10 at MetLife Stadium, with Marshmello and The All-American Rejects as supporting acts, running through November 14.

Lost Americana by MGK

MGK’s Lost Americana, also out August 8, is his seventh studio album and his first since Mainstream Sellout (2022). It features singles “Cliché,” “Vampire Diaries,” and “Miss Sunshine,” with a 13-track lineup and no collaborations. The album’s trailer, narrated by Bob Dylan, has generated major buzz. MGK reunites with longtime producers SlimXX, BazeXX, and Nick Long for the project.

Willoughby Tucker, I’ll Always Love You by Ethel Cain

Ethel Cain’s Willoughby Tucker, I’ll Always Love You, dropping August 8, serves as a prequel to Preacher’s Daughter (2022). It includes the singles “Nettles” and “Fuck Me Eyes,” as well as tracks like “Janie” and “Waco, Texas.” The album, recorded entirely in home studios, centers around the fictional love story of Willoughby Tucker, beginning in 1986. Her Willoughby Tucker Forever Tour runs from August through November, covering North America and Europe, with 9million as the opening act.

Wishbone by Conan Gray

Conan Gray’s Wishbone, arriving August 15, follows closely behind his 2024 project Found Heaven. The album is led by singles “This Song” and “Vodka Cranberry” and features 12 tracks in total. Gray has described the project as deeply personal and introspective, written in secret over two years. Dan Nigro returns as executive producer. The Wishbone Pajama Show tour will run throughout September and October 2025.

Love Is Like by Maroon 5

Maroon 5 makes a highly anticipated return with Love Is Like, due August 15, their first album since Jordi (2021). The lead single, “Priceless” (featuring Lisa), was released in May, followed by “All Night” and “California.” The album includes 10 tracks, with features from Lil Wayne and Sexyy Red. Frontman Adam Levine promises a return to more organic production, evoking the band’s early sound. The Love Is Like US Fall Tour begins October 6, with Claire Rosinkranz as support.

Don’t Click Play by Ava Max

Ava Max returns with her third studio album, Don’t Click Play, out August 22, following 2023’s Diamonds & Dancefloors. The LP was preceded by the singles “Lost Your Faith” (February 7), “Lovin’ Myself” (May 29), and “Wet, Hot American Dream” (July 1). Unfortunately, Ava will not tour to support the release. Her previously announced Don’t Click Play Tour was canceled, disappointing many fans.

Man’s Best Friend by Sabrina Carpenter

Sabrina Carpenter closes out the month with the most anticipated release: Man’s Best Friend, out August 28. The album follows the massive success of Short n’ Sweet (2024), which propelled Sabrina to new heights with hits like “Espresso” and “Taste.” Less than a year later, she’s back with more new music. Man’s Best Friend includes the chart-topping lead single “Manchild” and 11 additional tracks.
