Nearly ten years after its original release, Zara Larsson’s breakout hit “Lush Life” is enjoying an unexpected second life. In the final weeks of 2025, the 2015 single has surged back into global streaming charts, powered not by radio or playlist placement, but by a fan-driven TikTok moment that has reignited worldwide interest.

The resurgence traces back to mid-November during Larsson’s Midnight Sun Tour stop in Amsterdam. While performing “Lush Life,” the Swedish pop star invited a 16-year-old fan, Julia Sophie Coster, onstage. What followed became an instant viral spark. Julia stunned both the audience and Larsson herself by flawlessly recreating the song’s original choreography, executing every move with confidence and precision. Videos of the moment quickly spread across TikTok, racking up millions of views within days.

The clip sparked a full-scale dance trend. Users began recreating the choreography, often posting slowed-down tutorials, mirrored versions, and side-by-side comparisons with the original performance. The challenge spread rapidly across platforms, introducing “Lush Life” to a new generation while reactivating nostalgia among longtime fans. The trend soon became a recurring highlight on Larsson’s tour, with the singer continuing to invite fans onstage to perform the routine. Guest appearances, including one featuring Alex Warren, further amplified the moment online.

That visibility translated directly into measurable streaming gains. Despite the competitive holiday season, “Lush Life” has climbed steadily on the Spotify Global Chart. On December 19, the track reached a new daily peak at No. 39 with 2.5 million streams. As of December 20, it remains Larsson’s most-streamed song on Spotify, now surpassing 1.8 billion total streams.

The revival extends well beyond Spotify. “Lush Life” has re-entered national charts across multiple territories, including a top 10 return in Sweden, a reappearance in the UK at No. 39 for the first time in nine years, and renewed charting in Norway and the Netherlands. The song has also debuted on the Billboard Global 200, underscoring its renewed international pull.
