Doja Cat’s highly anticipated Primavera Sound Barcelona debut has been canceled due to severe weather conditions, forcing the Grammy-winning star to pull the plug on her opening-night headline set just minutes before taking the stage.

The rapper and singer was scheduled to headline Thursday night (June 4) at Parc del Fòrum as part of Primavera Sound Barcelona 2026, marking both her first-ever performance in Spain and her debut appearance at the festival. Instead, heavy rain and strong winds disrupted programming throughout the day, ultimately making it unsafe for the show to proceed.

Doja spent the afternoon updating fans directly through X, remaining hopeful that the weather would improve in time for her set. “THE WEATHER IN BARCELONA IS NOT LOOKING GREAT AT THE MOMENT BUT IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG I WILL SEARCH FOR A PLAN B. LETS BOW OUR HEADS AND PRAY TOGETHER BECAUSE I NEED TO SEE MY ANGELS TONIGHT. THIS RAIN WONT STOP OUR FUN,” she wrote.

As conditions worsened, the Vie hitmaker continued interacting with fans online. “BARCELONA Hold my hand and pray with me!” she posted, later adding: “I love you and I’m going to try and figure something out tonight.

Despite those efforts, organizers were ultimately left with little choice. Shortly before her scheduled appearance on the Revolut stage, Doja confirmed that the performance would not go ahead.

Barcelona i am fully dressed and ready to go to stage but it’s just not safe enough to continue the show tonight. I’m so sorry that this is how this shit has to be right now. I will think of everything I can under the sun to make it up to you. Please stay safe and warm I will see you again I promise,” she wrote.

A short time later, she delivered the final update fans had been fearing.

Unfortunately it is cancelled due to weather. I mean what I said in the post prior. Giant hugs tears and kisses to you all tonight.”

The cancellation comes during a busy stretch of Doja Cat’s Tour Ma Vie World Tour. The European leg launched on May 19 in Dublin and features an expanded production built around material from her 2025 album Vie. The global trek originally began in Auckland, New Zealand, on November 18, 2025, and is scheduled to continue through December 1, 2026, when it wraps in New York City.

Shortly after the announcement, Doja went live on Instagram to address the situation. She expressed her frustration at not being able to perform due to the weather conditions. “I love you guys,” she said. “I know it’s not my fault. The weather is awful. I’m sorry. I’ll be back soon with a fire you’ve never seen before.”
