Six years after its release, Lil Baby’s My Turn continues to redefine commercial longevity in modern hip-hop.
The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has confirmed that the Atlanta rapper’s second studio album is now the highest certified rap album of the 2020s. The project has officially reached 7x Platinum status in the United States, marking seven million units sold.
The anniversary update brings additional milestones. “Sum 2 Prove” is now certified 9x Platinum, while “Woah” rises to 8x Platinum. “We Paid” and “Emotionally Scarred” have each reached 7x Platinum. Meanwhile, “The Bigger Picture” is now certified 3x Platinum.
Released on February 28, 2020, through Capitol Records, Motown Records and Quality Control Music, My Turn marked a pivotal moment in Lil Baby’s career.
The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 197,000 album-equivalent units. It remained atop the chart for five weeks, becoming one of the longest-running rap No. 1s of 2020. A deluxe edition, released in May of that year, extended its chart life and fueled sustained streaming momentum.
The project featured collaborations with Gunna, Future, Lil Wayne and Young Thug, among others. Production credits included Tay Keith, Quay Global, Hit-Boy, Murda Beatz and Wheezy.
Beyond numbers, “The Bigger Picture” carried cultural weight. Released amid nationwide protests in 2020, the track earned two nominations at the Grammy Awards and became one of the defining rap records of that year.
