Megan Thee Stallion has officially confirmed that new music is on the way in 2026, offering fans their clearest signal yet that the next chapter of her career is nearing completion. In a new interview with PEOPLE, the Grammy-winning rapper revealed that she is deeply immersed in the creative process and intentionally keeping a low profile to focus on finishing what she describes as “act three” of her current musical arc.

I’m definitely in the studio,” Megan said. “I’m kind of hiding from everybody right now because I really just want to work. I’m completing act three and the music is dropping this year; the hotties just need to give me a little time.” The statement confirms that the Houston artist plans to release new material before the end of 2026, positioning the project as the concluding chapter in a trilogy that has defined her post-breakthrough era.

While Megan has yet to share a title or release date, the reference to “act three” aligns with her previously teased project, Megan: Act III, which is expected to serve as the final installment following Megan and Megan: Act II. Those records marked new beginnings for the 30-year-old rapper as an independent artist. Following the success of her first two albums, Good News and Traumazine, she departed from 300 Entertainment and 1501 Certified Entertainment, taking full control of her career by launching her own label, Hot Girl Productions.

Despite keeping a low profile in the past few months, the announcement arrives just weeks after her latest single. In late 2025, Megan released “Lover Girl,” a sleek, nostalgia-tinged track built around a sample of Total’s 1990s R&B classic “Kissin’ You.” The song debuted at No. 38 on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached the top 10 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

Beyond new music, Megan has also been vocal about her long-term ambitions. In a recent conversation with Us Weekly, she shared that she is manifesting a future Super Bowl halftime show appearance. The idea arrives at a time when hip-hop has become increasingly central to the NFL’s marquee event, particularly since Roc Nation’s partnership with the league. Kendrick Lamar’s recent solo headlining performance further expanded that pathway.
