Post Malone is bringing one of the most requested projects in his catalog to streaming. The rapper announced that August 26: The Mixtape will officially arrive on all major platforms on August 26, 2026, celebrating the project’s 10th anniversary alongside its first-ever vinyl release.
Sharing the news on social media, Malone wrote: “It’s finally here ladies and gentlemen August 26: The Mixtape will be available on August 26, 2026 in celebration of its ten year anniversary. Streaming on all platforms and available on vinyl for the first time (online and at select retailers worldwide, while supplies last). Where the hell you get that from? Pre-order now on postmalone.com.”
Originally released as a free DatPiff download on May 12, 2016, August 26th served as Post Malone’s major-label debut mixtape following the breakout success of “White Iverson.” The title referenced the original planned release date for his debut album Stoney, which was ultimately pushed back to December 2016. After the delay, Malone publicly apologized to fans, making the mixtape an important bridge between his viral breakthrough and his first studio album.
The 10-track project features collaborations with 2 Chainz, Jeremih, Lil Yachty, Jaden Smith, Larry June, FKi 1st, and Teo, while production came from FKi, Louis Bell, Charlie Handsome, Rex Kudo, Cashio, ILoveMakonnen and Malone himself. Fan favorites including “Money Made Me Do It,” “Hollywood Dreams / Come Down,” “F*ck,” and “Oh God” helped establish the melodic rap style that would soon propel him to global superstardom.
Despite its significance, August 26th has never received a full commercial release on major streaming services, remaining largely confined to DatPiff archives and unofficial uploads for the past decade. The 2026 rollout finally gives fans an official way to stream the mixtape while also offering its first physical edition on vinyl through Post Malone’s online store and select retailers worldwide.
The announcement arrives during an especially active period for the artist. Last month, Post Malone debuted the unreleased track “Chrome Heartbreaker” during the FIFA World Cup Final pregame show on July 19, fueling speculation that the song will launch his rumored upcoming album, The Eternal Buzz. Earlier teasers have pointed toward a return to his hip-hop roots after spending the past two years focused on country music.
