More than three decades after introducing “Lodi Dodi” to the world, Snoop Dogg is giving the hip-hop classic a fresh visual identity. The rapper has teamed up with acclaimed animator and director Tristan Zammit, professionally known as Tristious, to bring the Doggystyle favorite into a new era.

Originally released in 1993 on Snoop’s landmark debut album, “Lodi Dodi” has found renewed attention through TikTok, where anime edits and viral trends have helped introduce the track to a younger generation.

For the new animated visual, Snoop Dogg has enlisted Tristious, a filmmaker whose distinctive approach has made him a recognizable creative force in music video animation. Born in Toronto and now based in Philadelphia, Zammit has worked with an impressive roster of artists, translating their music into imaginative animated worlds. His credits include XXXTENTACION’s “BAD!,” Juice WRLD’s “Righteous,” Lil Uzi Vert’s “Myron,” Lil Yachty’s “Forever Young” featuring Diplo, YNW Melly’s “Suicidal,” 6LACK and Khalid’s “Seasons,” and TiaCorine’s “Booty.”

His work extends beyond standalone music videos. Tristious has also created animated tour visuals for Denzel Curry’s “Sick and Tired” and contributed to Lil Durk’s “Kanye Krazy,” directed by Cole Bennett.

The choice of “Lodi Dodi” is particularly meaningful. A celebrated reinterpretation of Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick’s 1985 classic “La Di Da Di,” Snoop’s version became one of the memorable moments on Doggystyle. Released at a defining point for West Coast rap, the album helped establish his signature laid-back delivery and the G-funk sound as major forces in mainstream hip-hop.
