Travis Scott turned heads at the 2026 UEFA Champions League Final in Budapest on May 30 after appearing with what looked like a red iPod clipped to his belt — and his explanation immediately sent fans into speculation mode. During a pre-match interview at Puskás Aréna, the rapper was asked about the unusual device and responded with a cryptic tease: “Gotta keep the new album safe.”
The moment unfolded ahead of the PSG vs. Arsenal final, which kicked off at 6 p.m. local time in Hungary, and quickly spread across social media as viewers zeroed in on the bright red rectangular object attached to Scott’s outfit.
Whether it was a deliberate stunt, a practical storage choice or simply Scott leaning into fan intrigue, the visual instantly fueled conversation around what could be his first solo album since Utopia. The rapper has spent much of 2026 subtly signaling that a new era is taking shape.
Earlier this month, on May 10, Scott posted footage from a studio session to Instagram alongside the caption: “My version of the gym / Non stop head bangers / ball.” The clip reignited anticipation around fresh music after months of scattered hints. That followed a January 7 Instagram Story in which he told fan pages, “LOVE TO ALL THE FAN PAGES YALL KEEP IT ROCKING WE SHALL EAT SOOOOONNN.”
Speculation around a new project intensified after a resurfaced video from the European leg of the Circus Maximus Tour showed Scott revealing he had created “a whole new album” while traveling across Europe. According to the rapper, the pace and movement of the tour unlocked a different creative process.
The timing aligns with one of the biggest commercial runs of his career. Circus Maximus concluded on November 20, 2025 after 88 dates across five continents, grossing $265.1 million and selling more than 2.1 million tickets, making it the highest-grossing solo rap tour ever reported. That momentum followed Utopia, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in August 2023 with 496,000 equivalent album units in its opening week.
