Madison Beer’s locket era isn’t ending quietly. Arriving just four months after the original album debuted inside the Billboard 200 top 10, locket deluxe expands the project with four new songs that feel less like leftover material and more like the emotional afterglow of the record itself. While the standard edition balanced dark-pop tension with fragile intimacy, the deluxe leans warmer, softer, and occasionally freer.

The strongest addition is clear almost immediately. “lovergirl,” released alongside a cinematic music video featuring NFL quarterback Justin Herbert, stands out as the campaign’s defining moment — a glittery, synth-heavy rush that taps into Beer’s most infectious instincts without sacrificing the vulnerability that shaped locket. Its ‘80s-inspired production, flirtatious hooks, and euphoric chorus inject a shot of bright energy into an album previously dominated by heartbreak and reflection. More importantly, it sounds effortless. Beer doesn’t force the confidence here; she floats through it.

That sense of emotional release continues with “free,” arguably the most sonically immersive track among the four additions. Built around hazy production and dreamy vocal layering, the song recalls the atmospheric melancholy of alternative pop artists like Lana Del Rey and once again showcases Beer’s vocal range.

Then comes “somehow i got lucky,” the one addition that slightly interrupts the momentum. Clocking in at just over two minutes, the track isn’t necessarily weak — its sweetness and bright pop structure fit the project’s romantic undertones — but compared to the sharper writing and fuller emotional textures surrounding it, the song feels comparatively lightweight.

Still, the deluxe edition recovers beautifully with “locket theme (extended),” an expanded version of the album’s opening piece that transforms the original interlude into a fully realized closer.
