MEOVV’s second EP arrives as a statement of intent. With Bite Now, the rookie quintet sharpens the sonic identity introduced on My Eyes Open VVide, delivering a tighter and more self-assured project that pushes deeper into electronic experimentation while preserving the swagger that made their debut one of 2025’s most promising K-pop introductions.

Released as the group’s first major project of 2026, the five-track set feels less like an extension of their debut and more like a deliberate creative pivot.

Where My Eyes Open VVide balanced hip-hop, funk and polished pop textures, Bite Now leans heavily into electronic production across its opening stretch. The shift is immediate on opener “Hit ’Em,” a synthesis-heavy introduction built on atmospheric tension. The track gradually escalates before detonating into a kinetic electronic rhythm that establishes the EP’s aggressive pulse. It is MEOVV at their most confrontational and sets an ambitious tone for what follows.

The title track “DDI RO RI” pushes that tension even further. Built around a dramatic interpolation of Bach’s “Toccata and Fugue in D Minor,” the song opens with ominous ascending synths before snapping into a measured trap beat. The contrast works. There is theatricality in its construction, but the restraint in the arrangement keeps it from tipping into excess.

Then comes “Favorite Song,” the EP’s emotional pivot point and strongest showcase of MEOVV’s vocal development. Trading industrial textures for a cleaner mid-tempo R&B-pop framework, the track introduces a melancholic softness that gives each member room to breathe.

Revenge” slows things down even further. The closer embraces a darker, moodier atmosphere that feels introspective without losing the group’s edge. While less immediate than the EP’s flashier moments, its simmering restraint gives Bite Now a thoughtful closing note.

That duality defines the record. The first half thrives on sharp electronic intensity, while the latter half shifts toward vocal clarity and emotional texture. The sequencing creates a cohesive arc, allowing MEOVV to showcase both technical versatility and artistic discipline.
