Country singer Ashley Barron returns this New Music Friday with her brand new single, “Satisfied.” The song, inspired by Ashley’s own experiences, revolves around a question many of us have asked ourselves at least once: “Am I ever going to find love?” However, it isn’t just about romantic love; it captures a feeling many people can relate to—whether it’s about love, work, or family.
For “Satisfied,” Ashley teamed up with acclaimed songwriter Bill DiLuigi. Together, they transformed her personal narrative into a song that resonates with anyone feeling stuck in a particular aspect of their life.
This new track serves as the fourth single from Ashley’s upcoming sophomore album, Checkmate, set to be released this fall. The record, she reveals, tells a story of growth, heartbreak, and eventual healing.
Ashley sat down with us to present her new single “Satisfied” and share some insights into the upcoming album.
Can you tell us about your new single “Satisfied”?
I was single for many years and there comes a point when you start to question, am I ever gonna find love? This song came from that place.
What is the meaning behind this song?
This song isn’t necessarily about love. It could be your job, your family life, any place you just feel stuck. I know there is always a light at the end of the tunnel but sometimes it just feels dim.
You wrote this song with acclaimed songwriter Bill Diluigi. What was it like working with him?
Bill is a great songwriter. He knows how to help turn my story into a song.
“Cryin’ In A Bar,” “Betrayed,” “Hooked On My Heartbeat,” and “Satisfied” are the four singles you’ve released this year. Which one is your favorite out of these?
I don’t know if I can choose a favorite. All the songs on my album mean so much to me. This is truly my heart in a single form.
“Satisfied” serves as a single from your upcoming album “Checkmate,” out this fall. What can we expect from the record, and how does this new song fit into the larger creative vision for the project?
This album tells a story. From betrayal to entering back into the dating world and ultimately finding love. It’s a journey and I hope my fans can relate with it.
