How would you define your music?

Country lyrics with a southern rock edge.

Could you elaborate on your musical journey and the path that led you to where you are today?

My family are extremely musical, I’m the daughter of a west end performer and an actress so it’s something i’ve always been surrounded by. I also have American family which is where country music comes into play! My nan would go visit our family in the states and return with half a suitcase of country CD’s. That sparked my love for country and I’ve been playing/writing it ever since!

In 2021, you were nominated as Female Artist of the Year at the British CMA’s. What was your reaction when you found out?

I was in disbelief really. It had been my first year of consistently releasing music so for that to be recognised so early on in my career was just such a shock to me (a very good shock though!).

Can you tell us about your new single “Home”?

Home is my first single in a long line of music to come this year. It’s an empowering southern rock tune but also has a bit of a bluesy vibe – it’s also one of my favourite songs to play live!

What is the meaning behind this song?

It’s about recognising that the journey can be just as important as the destination – even if you don’t know exactly what that looks like! It was also important for me to get across that ‘Home’ is so much more than a physical place, it’s a mental state too.

Are you working on an album or EP and, if so, can you tell us about it?

There’s definitely more music to come this year and as soon as I can, I’ll let you know!

What is a message you would like to give through your music and why?

I’d like my music to make people feel like they don’t need to apologise for being who they are, that the world is way more fun when we’re all a bit sassy but also that having grace and kindness is just as important.

Write here something you want to let people know.

A 70’s themed music video accompanied the release of ‘Home’. Directed by Peter Heppelthwaite, it’s upbeat, full of energy and definitely worth the watch!
