Blackpink are rewriting their own record books — and doing it in record time. Just hours after the release of their new EP Deadline, the quartet set a new benchmark on South Korea’s Hanteo Chart. According to early sales data, Deadline sold 1,287,614 copies within the first 4 hours and 30 minutes of release, making it the highest first-day seller in BLACKPINK’s history.
The milestone carries wider significance. With Deadline surpassing the one-million mark on day one, BLACKPINK become the first girl group in Hanteo history to have multiple albums exceed one million copies sold within the first 24 hours. Their 2022 release Born Pink previously crossed the same threshold.
Update: BLACKPINK’s DEADLINE has set a new all-time record for the highest first-day sales by any girl group in Hanteo history, already surpassing 1,448,380 copies.
Deadline, released via YG Entertainment, marks BLACKPINK’s first group project since Born Pink. The five-track EP launched alongside the single “Go,” following last year’s pre-release hit “Jump,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200. The new era also introduces a distribution partnership with The Orchard.
ROSÉ, JISOO, JENNIE, and LISA entered this comeback with momentum already secured. Their Deadline World Tour concluded earlier this year after a full stadium run that included historic stops such as Wembley Stadium in London.
