Netflix has officially announced “BTS: THE RETURN,” a new documentary film chronicling the making of the group’s long-awaited comeback album ARIRANG. The film will premiere globally on March 27, marking a major milestone in BTS’ renewed partnership with the streaming platform and offering fans an intimate look at one of the most anticipated albums of the decade.

The announcement arrives as part of a coordinated rollout that places BTS firmly back in the global spotlight. Ahead of the documentary’s release, Netflix will exclusively stream “BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG” on March 21 at 8 p.m. KST (4 a.m. PST). The live performance will take place at Seoul’s historic Gwanghwamun Square. The event will be broadcast worldwide, giving fans direct access to BTS’ first major group performance tied to ARIRANG.

According to Netflix, BTS: THE RETURN will document the creative process behind the album, capturing studio sessions, behind-the-scenes conversations, and the group’s reflections as they reunite following years defined by solo projects and military service.

Momentum around ARIRANG has already been historic. Earlier this year, the album broke records on Spotify, becoming the most pre-saved album by an Asian act in the platform’s history.
