The accompanying photo offers a rare glimpse into the album’s development, with a whiteboard listing unreleased tracks, including “Chrome Heartbreaker” and “Death of the Bow.” Checkmarks beside writing, recording and mixing indicate that the project has moved through several stages of production, although Malone has not confirmed an official release date, final tracklist or title.
“Chrome Heartbreaker” has already given fans an early indication of what to expect. Malone debuted the unheard song during the pregame ceremony for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final at MetLife Stadium on July 19, performing it before “Wow.” and “Sunflower.” Its hip-hop production and melodic hooks fueled speculation that his next album could lean back toward the sound that initially made him a global star.
That possibility has become a major talking point since Post Malone spent much of the past two years exploring country music. His 2024 album F-1 Trillion debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 250,000 equivalent album units, supported by collaborations with Morgan Wallen, Luke Combs, Dolly Parton and Tim McGraw.
In April, Post Malone appeared to tease a potential double album titled The Eternal Buzz, reportedly featuring 40 tracks across two discs. He has yet to confirm whether that title or format will be used for the finished project. A July 16 studio preview featuring another unreleased song also hinted at a rap-focused direction.
Meanwhile, August brought a separate milestone for longtime fans: August 26: The Mixtape arrived on major streaming platforms on August 26, marking the project’s 10th anniversary alongside its first-ever vinyl release.
