EVAN is giving fans a closer look at the beginning of his solo journey. The artist, formerly known as ENHYPEN member Lee Heeseung, has officially announced his first documentary, About EVAN., which is scheduled to premiere on July 18, 2026, at 12:00 a.m. KST.
The announcement arrived alongside a minimalist poster featuring a close-up portrait of EVAN against a black background, with the documentary’s title and release time displayed in simple white lettering. While additional details have yet to be revealed, the project is widely expected to debut through his official YouTube channel and HYBE platforms.
The documentary follows a transformative year for the singer. After departing ENHYPEN in March 2026, EVAN introduced his new artistic identity in April, explaining that the name had personal significance dating back to childhood and represented the most authentic version of himself outside the group’s framework.
His solo career officially began on June 22 with the self-produced single “RIDE OR DIE,” a release that marked a noticeable shift toward alternative production and more personal songwriting. Rather than pursuing a traditional idol concept, EVAN described the music as an honest reflection of his creative process, touching on themes including artistic freedom, self-discovery, stage anxiety and the challenges of building a new identity.
The documentary also arrives amid continued discussion surrounding EVAN’s departure from ENHYPEN. BELIFT LAB confirmed his exit on March 15 following what the company described as “extensive and in-depth discussions” regarding musical direction. The decision prompted an immediate response from fans, with a petition advocating for simultaneous group and solo activities reportedly surpassing one million signatures within its first 24 hours.
