One year after its release, Jennie’s Ruby remains one of the defining solo debuts in K-pop history. Originally released on March 7, 2025 through ODD ATELIER in partnership with Columbia Records, Ruby marked a pivotal moment in Jennie’s career. The album was her first full-length solo project after parting ways with YG Entertainment and Interscope Records in 2023, allowing her to shape a new chapter with more creative control.
To celebrate the anniversary, Jennie released Ruby (The Complete Collection) on March 6, 2026—an expanded version of the album that revisits the project that launched her solo era.
Below is a closer look at some of the album’s biggest milestones during its first year.
Record-Breaking First Week Sales
Ruby made an immediate impact upon release. The album sold more than one million copies worldwide during its first week, including over 660,000 units in South Korea alone according to Hanteo.
That figure made Ruby the highest first-week sales for a K-pop female solo artist in 2025.
Global Chart Success
Commercial momentum quickly followed. Ruby debuted inside the Top 10 in 19 countries, signaling the project’s widespread international appeal.
In the United States, the album entered the Billboard 200 at No. 7, tying Lisa for the second-highest charting album by a K-pop female soloist at the time, behind Rosé and her album Rosie.
The project also achieved a historic milestone in the United Kingdom. Ruby debuted at No. 3 on the UK Albums Chart, becoming the highest-charting album by a female K-pop soloist in UK chart history. The achievement also tied Jung Kook’s Golden as the highest-charting album by any K-pop solo act in the country.
Billions of Streams Worldwide
Streaming numbers further underscored the album’s global reach. As of March 2026, Ruby has surpassed 2.6 billion streams on Spotify.
That total places the album among the most-streamed releases ever by a K-pop female soloist.
Major Awards and Industry Recognition
Critical and industry recognition soon followed the album’s commercial success. Ruby and its singles collected numerous honors across major Asian music ceremonies.
The project earned six Asian Pop Music Awards, three Golden Disc Awards, three Melon Music Awards, two MAMA Awards, and two Korean Music Awards. Jennie also received the Global Force Award at the Billboard Women in Music 2025 ceremony.
