Released March 7, 2025, through Odd Atelier and Columbia Records, Ruby marked Jennie’s first album as a solo artist following her departure from YG Entertainment and Interscope Records. Across 15 tracks, the project moves between pop, hip-hop and R&B, with guest appearances from Childish Gambino, Doechii, Dominic Fike, FKJ, Dua Lipa and Kali Uchis.
Jennie took an active role in shaping the album, writing and co-producing material alongside collaborators including El Guincho, Diplo and Mike Will Made-It.
Commercially, Ruby opened strongly across multiple markets. The album debuted in the top 10 in 19 countries, including the United States, and United Kingdom, while its more than 660,000 first-week sales in South Korea gave Jennie the highest first-week total for a K-pop female soloist that year.
The album’s campaign produced five official singles: “Mantra,” “Love Hangover,” “ExtraL,” “Like Jennie” and “Handlebars.” Each entered the Billboard Global 200 and the Billboard Hot 100, with “Mantra” reaching No. 3 on the Global 200 and “Like Jennie” climbing to No. 5. The latter also became Jennie’s third No. 1 on South Korea’s Circle Digital Chart.
