LISA has officially confirmed that new solo music is on the way. In a new interview with Vanity Fair, the BLACKPINK star revealed that she has begun working on her next solo album, with plans for the project to tie into her upcoming Las Vegas residency.

The update marks the clearest indication yet that a follow-up to Alter Ego is in development. While fans have speculated for months about a second solo era, LISA had largely remained silent on her recording plans until now.

According to Vanity Fair, the singer is currently back in the United States and has already started the creative process. “And then there is the topic of a new album, which Manobal casually reveals she’s been working on now that she’s back in the US,” the magazine reported. “She won’t say much—it’s early days and she’s been doing some exploratory recording sessions.

Although details remain limited, the report suggests that the project is being shaped with a specific purpose in mind. “The loose idea is for the album to support her Vegas residency,” Vanity Fair wrote. “She wants people who’ve seen her perform to have a new experience.”

News of a new album arrives just months after fans picked up on subtle hints during a livestream earlier this year. At the time, a viewer commented, “looking for LISA new solo album.” Instead of responding directly, LISA paused, smiled broadly, and appeared to suppress her excitement. No announcement followed, but many fans interpreted the reaction as a sign that something was already in motion.

The timing is significant given the enormous demand surrounding VIVA LA LISA, her upcoming residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Scheduled for November 13–14 and November 27–28, the four-show run sold out at remarkable speed. Pre-sale tickets disappeared in just 22 minutes on April 22, while the general sale on April 23 cleared out in less than nine minutes.

The residency will make LISA the first K-pop artist to headline a Las Vegas residency, adding another milestone to a career that has continued to expand beyond traditional pop boundaries.

Her previous solo album, Alter Ego, arrived on February 28, 2025, and debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200. The project produced several international hits, including “Rockstar,” “New Woman,” and “Born Again,” while helping establish LISA as a major force outside of BLACKPINK. More recently, she made history as the first Thai artist to perform at the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony in Los Angeles.
