MINNIE has steadily expanded her profile beyond her work with i-dle through solo releases, soundtrack contributions and collaborations. Her official solo debut arrived on January 21, 2025, with Her, a seven-track EP released through Cube Entertainment that peaked at No. 2 on Korean charts and sold more than 245,000 copies.
Preceded by the single “Blind Eyes Red,” Her introduced a more personal side of MINNIE’s artistry, blending R&B and pop across tracks including the title song, “Drive U Crazy” featuring fellow i-dle member YUQI, and “Obsession” featuring WayV’s Ten.
Her solo identity had already taken shape through years of soundtrack work and collaborations. Among her notable contributions is “Like a Dream,” from the 2024 soundtrack to Lovely Runner, alongside earlier OST recordings for My Dangerous Wife, Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol and other Korean dramas.
The upcoming EP arrives during a particularly active year for the group’s members. SOYEON released her first full-length solo album, What a Wonderful Life, on September 7, while YUQI followed with her second mini-album, 27, on October 8. Both projects presented distinct perspectives: SOYEON explored different musical styles and everyday frustrations, while YUQI used a Chinese-language release to reflect on vulnerability, self-love and turning 27.
