ROSÉ has spoken candidly about BLACKPINK’s future, offering rare insight into how the group approaches conversations around longevity, individual priorities, and the possibility of disbandment.
Appearing on the Call Her Daddy podcast, the singer was asked whether she and fellow members JENNIE, JISOO, and LISA have ever discussed ending the group. Rather than avoiding the question, ROSÉ answered with notable openness, emphasizing mutual respect as the foundation of BLACKPINK’s dynamic.
“I think if one of us feels, like, at that time that it’s not the right thing, then we’re all in,” she said. “We will understand, and like any relationship, if one person is not ready for something, it should just be respected.”
She continued by underlining the group’s structure as a key factor in those conversations. “BLACKPINK is only four members, first of all, so we will not be able to neglect anyone’s decision. We trust that every decision made is the right decision for each person.”
The comments arrive at a moment of heightened reflection for both the group and fans. On January 26, BLACKPINK concluded their six-month DEADLINE World Tour with a final show at Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong. The night carried emotional weight, particularly for ROSÉ, who became visibly moved while addressing the crowd. “Tonight is a celebration of this whole journey we’ve put on for the past six months, and if anything, for the past almost like 10 years,” she told fans. “We’re gonna be missing this atmosphere for a while.”
ROSÉ’s podcast appearance also touched on her individual plans, particularly the idea of a future solo tour. While fans have called for one, the singer admitted she does not yet feel fully prepared. “I feel like to create a whole world on stage, I need more time,” she explained. “Right now I only have 12 songs, and I don’t feel ready to create a whole body of work for everyone yet.”
Her comments reflect the careful pacing that has defined her solo journey so far. ROSÉ’s debut album Rosie became a commercial and critical milestone, led by the international hit “APT.” featuring Bruno Mars, which expanded her presence far beyond the K-pop sphere.
Looking ahead, BLACKPINK’s focus is set to shift once again. The group will release their new mini album Deadline on February 27, marking their first collective project since Born Pink. The lead single “Jump” has already made history, debuting at No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts and later winning Best Digital Song at the 40th Golden Disc Awards.
