Over the past few hours, old videos have surfaced alleging that BLACKPINK members Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé used offensive language during their trainee days. These claims stem from leaked audition videos purportedly showing the artists using the N-word while singing along to rap songs. The videos were allegedly leaked by an employee of their agency, YG Entertainment.

Public reactions are mixed. Some fans defend the BLACKPINK members, citing their young age during the trainee period and a possible lack of understanding of the offensive nature of the term. “BLACKPINK getting a massive hate train means their comeback will be extremely successful, so honestly, I couldn’t care less,” a user wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Now… why is nobody talking about YG making BLACKPINK sing inappropriate songs, especially considering their ages at the time?! Like, we get it—Rosé said the N-word and all, but isn’t it very weird that they were singing those types of songs? Idk, it’s weird,” another shared. Others have criticized the group, especially since Jennie and Rosé are fluent in English and may have been aware of the word’s implications. “It is worth mentioning that Jennie was born and raised in a Western country,” a fan pointed out on X/Twitter.

As of now, YG Entertainment has not issued an official statement regarding these specific allegations. However, the agency has previously taken legal action against the unauthorized distribution of private content involving their artists. In October 2022, YG Entertainment requested a police investigation into the leak of private photos of Jennie, emphasizing their commitment to protecting their artists’ privacy and reputation.
