5 Seconds of Summer return with confidence and clarity on Everyone’s A Star!, a sharp, self-aware pop-rock record that blends nostalgia with the pop energy that made them great. The Australian band’s sixth studio album, released under Republic Records, reflects a decade of evolution. It builds on the introspective atmosphere of 5SOS5 while leaning into the irony, satire, and early-2000s aesthetics that shaped their earliest work.
Recorded between Los Angeles and Nashville following their 10th-anniversary world tour, the album finds the group energized by reflection. Ashton Irwin and Michael Clifford have described the project as their “most ambitious era,” driven by a desire to blend modern pop sheen with the playful attitude that defined their debut.
The album’s lead single, “Not OK,” introduced its polished pop-punk edge and reconnected the band with fans who grew up alongside them. “Boyband,” the second single, dives into satire with clever lyrics and a theatrical, high-energy arrangement. The third single, “Telephone Busy,” reinforces the album’s Y2K pulse, combining bright guitar riffs with rhythmic vocal layering. These three songs stand among the album’s strongest peaks, while some of the deeper cuts slightly lose that momentum.
Overall, Everyone’s A Star! offers some of the band’s sharpest work in years, reaffirming their place as one of the most adaptive pop-rock groups of their generation. Below, we ranked the best songs on the album.
