Machine Gun Kelly returns after three years with Lost Americana, a project that blends grit, vulnerability, and stadium-ready hooks into one of his most ambitious releases yet. Dropped August 8 via EST 19XX and Interscope Records, the album follows 2022’s Mainstream Sellout and sees MGK embracing a more cinematic vision—both in sound and in storytelling.
The rollout set the tone for something bigger. An official trailer, narrated by Bob Dylan, stunned fans. Over imagery of motorcycles, neon-lit diners, and wide-open highways, Dylan described the record as “a personal excavation of the American dream… a sonic map of forgotten places… a tribute to the spirit of reinvention.” MGK confirmed the voice was real during his Tonight Show appearance, calling the collaboration “pure.”
Created with longtime allies Nick Long, Stephen Basil (BazeXX), and Brandon Allen (SlimXX), Lost Americana arrived armed with three already-buzzing singles — “Cliché,” “Vampire Diaries,” and “Miss Sunshine.” The record finds MGK doubling down on the alternative rock and pop-punk charge he’s been riding since Tickets to My Downfall, while also dipping back into his rap roots with a confidence that proves he’s still got the fire.
