“Memory Lane” — Zara Larsson
Opening our weekly roundup of new releases is Zara Larsson. The Swedish singer dropped two new songs, “Memory Lane” and “Winter Song,” from her upcoming holiday EP “Honor The Light,” set to release next Friday, on December 1st. Both songs are worth a listen, but “Memory Lane” stands out.
“Witness Me” — Jacob Collier ft. Shawn Mendes, Stormzy & Kirk Franklin
“Witness Me” presents an unexpected collaboration, featuring Shawn Mendes, UK rapper Stormzy, Grammy-winner Kirk Franklin, and a chorus of 5,000 voices. This gospel song is a hymn to the power of empathy and will be part of Jacob Collier’s upcoming album “Djesse Vol. 4,” scheduled for release in February 2024.
“Oral” — Björk & Rosalía
On Tuesday, Icelandic singer Björk and Spanish star Rosalía unleashed their collaboration “Oral.” Originally written and recorded by Björk two decades ago, the song aims to raise awareness and funds for the battle against fish farming in Iceland (Click Here For More Details).
“Homecoming” — James Arthur
James Arthur shared this nostalgic song as a single from his upcoming album “Bitter Sweet Love.” The lyrics of “Homecoming” reflect a nostalgic journey back to his roots in Redcar, Teesside, England, “The people ask me what it’s like to see Los Angeles / I say, “It ain’t no Redcar Beach.” The music video, shot at the Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough, adds a personal touch to the song. In a interview with PM Studio, James revealed: “It’s truly unbelievable. I don’t think that I can put it into words. As someone who came to the Riverside as a young lad with a season ticket and walked through the turnstiles, it’s just crazy to think that people are going to be walking through the turnstiles to watch me perform.”
“Throw Your Arms Around Me” — Ed Sheeran
Closing our roundup is Ed Sheeran’s rendition of “Throw Your Arms Around Me.” Originally released by Hunters & Collectors in 1984, this cover is featured on a compilation album celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Australian label Mushroom Records.
